Comeback Kate?

Recently Kate Moss, the iconic Supermodel known for making “Heroin Chic” hip in the 90s, was caught on a hidden camera taking cocaine in a London recording studio. Now, because of this, she has lost many of her most prominent contracts with Chanel, Burberry, and H&M. others apparently will follow. When I heard that Kate was losing all of her contracts due to her behavior I got a bad taste in my mouth. Many of these companies think they are making a huge anti-drug statement by dropping the model, leaving her high and dry, when actually they are left looking bogus. Most of them clearly turned a blind eye to her behavior before she was caught. Let me make it clear. I don’t condone her actions at all but I don’t believe these companies were in the dark about what was going on. How stupid do you have to be? There is no way anyone is going to convince me that designers, models, photographers and and the like didn’t see Kate doing cocaine at photo shoots, before she went on the catwalk, or out partying. It is only now that the greater public has become aware of her habits, that these companies feel the need to disassociate themselves from anything drug related, to save their reputations. It is so hypocritical and shows how little integrity these companies have. They should have helped her before, instead of taking the low road and dropping her. She may end up somewhere a whole lot worse now.
Many have been questioning whether, once clean, she will be able to make a comeback. I absolutely think so. Not only does this woman have incredible personal style, she has been the inspiration and muse of so many designers; helping launch many careers.
Some suggest she is too "over the hill' to be a model anymore, and this drug incident is what will finish her career. I think this is terrible. Not only is the public getting older, and wanting to see fashionable people of all ages, but they all love a comeback story. Who doesn’t? It is the most inspiring thing to see a down and out person come back and make it big. They beat the odds, they faced the fire, and they are ready to take on the world. I am also sure that there is a huge marketing mogul out there who is planning the comeback already. He/she already knows how many millions of dollars will be made when Kate arrives back on the scene, fresh, clean, and hotter then ever. It is going to be a tough road to get off of this insidious drug for good, but I bid her good luck.
