Thought I might get a slightly more enthusiastic picture to debut on the Cobra Snake's website, but non the less. Here I am!!
Steve Aoki was mixing that night. Smalltown opened up for him and I must say, they killed it as always. I grooved way harder to their shit. Aoki did lay down some phat beats, but Smalltown just has this eclecticism that is hard to match. Aoki was so contrived too, putting on this show for the people and the cameras, crowd surfing and drinking vodka strait from the bottle. It was strange seeing him in action and not in the context of a still frame.
What I appreciate are subtleties in Smalltown's approach. They don't need their own personal paparazzi, they just drop the phattest beats and let the music speak. Their modesty mixed with confidence makes me go crazy, in a good way!
